Brake Light Out - No Warning

I have a 2013 RDX Tech. I just noticed the other day my upper brake light is burned out and there's no warning in the information display. I was under the impression this so called luxury brand would have these features. Shouldn't the new RDX tell me when my bulbs are out?

I was already disappointed to find out it doesn't tell me my washer fluid was low. And now this.

My old 1996 Grand Cherokee and my even older 1987 BMW 325 had these sensors.

You're right. It's my fault. Buying an Acura was shear stupidity. They are overpriced Hondas. It's something you learn after owning one.

The RDX doesnt have a low washer fluid warning? Huhh??
Weird!!!. Silly me, I thought that feature is equip on all cars.

Regarding the brake light warning... Usually I find out my lights are out when I get pulled over and the cop gives me a ticket to have it fix within 24hrs. I guess thats how Acura expects us to find out we need bulb replacement.

Isn't a 20 second walk around every week or so a better way?

Its easy to check if headlights, tail lights and signal lights are working with a 20 sec walk around. The BRAKE light on the other hand requires the brake the be applied. Will need a helper to check the brake light. Unless you become creative and jam a stick between the brake and the seat .

Perhaps the occasional passenger with 20 extra seconds on their hands? This really isn't all that tough.

Back the car near a wall, or use your closed garage door, apply the brake, check in the mirror, you do not even need to start the car.
