phone

hi all--
I just got my RDX and am new here. This is quite an improvement over my 10 yr old Subaru! I love the safety of the phone integration, but my husband can't understand me at all when I am using the phone in the car. I turn the air down, speak towards the speaker by the sunglasses holder-- but nothing seems to help. Does anyone else have this problem? I have to shout to be heard. Is that just the way it is?

I haven't had that problem at all - the worst feedback I get is that it sounds like I am "far from the phone" or that I sound like I am "standing in a closet"

Most men can't understand their wives....That is not an RDX issue. *LMAO* Sorry, I just couldn't resist. (didn't want to come across as rude)

I never had any issue with my phone so let me ask you the following: What kind of phone you have? I am not if this would make a difference in him hearing you (or just you hearing him) but also try turning the volume dial on the sound system.

you made me laugh-- and it takes a lot more then that for me to think someone is being rude!
Anyway, Im using an iPhone....I was hoping there was something that could be adjusted somehow.
Am I right about the microphone? Its towards the center, near the sunglasses holder?

I am glad you got a chuckle out of my post...if you spend alot of time here and in the TL section, you will see that I tend to be a bit of a goof and like to throw in a few chuckles here and there (while still taking the time to help the fellow members when I can).

So to answer to your question, you would be correct as to the location of the microphone. I don't have an i-phone so I can't you 100% there but in the genral section, someone else was having a similar problem with the i-phone...Please find the link to see if it can help you.

Welcome to Acurazine and hope you will enjoy spending time on here with a bunch of pretty decent people who care about their Acura's and their owners

Acura has a toll free help number specifically for Hands Free Link issues. It is (888) 528-7876. I used it about a week after I got my RDX, when it dropped the connection to my iPhone. I couldn't get it to link up to the phone again even after deleting it and trying to set it up as a new phone. The help line guy was great and walked me through the steps to get everything working again. Hopefully he can help with your problem as well.

It is best to talk with your usual voice. Do not shout! The system has a problem understanding a high pitch voice.
