DVD-Audio - What are you listening to?
With my entire CD collection converted to MP3 and living in iTunes Match, I thought I'd never by another disc. I was wrong. After listening to the DVD Audio disc provided with my new RDX, I went in search of of some super high quality music. I really got hooked on that Grover Washington, Jr tune where it sounded like there was a different instrument coming from each corner of the car. Wow!
My tastes are classic rock, jazz, blues, and some eclectic genres. Unfortunately, I haven't found much yet since most DVD Audio discs seem out of print. Here's what I'm listening to. What are you? Outside of Amazon, any good sources for DVD Audio?

I was pretty impressed with the sample DVD.
I like classic rock so after searching through ebay, I was able to score the Led Zeppelin - How the West Was Won, DVD Audio Disc Set for a very good price.
Amazing sound from a super amazing rock group

I was lucky enough to have purchased a few discs before they went OOP. I am currently listening to - Rumours - Fleetwood Mac, Machine Head - Deep Purple, Foreigner - Foreigner and Foreigner -4, Eagles - Hotel California all finely mastered discs and my favorite of all time Dire Straits -BIA 20th Anniversary Ed. Amazing surround sound. I also have the The Police DTS disc.

Looking forward to seeing the Eagles in July at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Was hoping to find a DVD Audio of them. Dire Straits would be great too. Frankly, most of what you've both listed sounds great. Unfortunately, sellers have wised up and the eBay and Amazon used prices are through the rough. I'll keep looking and perhaps I'll get luck.

That Grover Washington track is amazing but the dvd-audio version of winelight is way out of my price range. I've been looking for some smooth jazz or salsa, but nothing is less than <$20.
The other downside is I'm not a classic rock fan. I can take only so many guitar solos.
EDIT: I wish Acura would allow us to put mp3s on the HDD. I have nothing on mine.

Thank you and I forgot to add REM - The Best of ... DVD-A which sounds wonderful in surround sound.
My only concern is the long term use of the discs in the car. I have only one copy of each and since they can't be backed up, if the discs get scratched or get cooked in the southern heat, I don't think I will be able to find these easily or afford the high replacement cost.
It would have been nice if Panasonic ELS had included support for SuperAudio CD as well since their universal DVD players have supported both formats. Compared to the crappy XM, even the local AM stations sound far better on the ELS!

Amon Tobin's Chaos Theory Splinter Cell DVD Audio is probably the best use of DVD Audio I have ever heard. He really takes it to the next level with effects and panning. I highly recommend this album if you can get your hands on it. It is a must have.

Car Crazy for Sure!
I think the ELS system is pretty amazing IF you are using DVD-A music, of course. The Beatles "Love" DVD-A is hearing them like never before!
It came with the CD also. OK....but, not the same. The demo DVD-A really let's us hear what it's all about.....and yes, it's too bad that this music system died out fairly quickly after it was developed.....and finding discs is difficult and many of the really good ones are way too pricey. I'm still amazed that Acura is still using ELS in some of it's new vehicles just coming out.
It will still be in the new MDX...I think it's in the RLX....and of course still in the '14 RDX.

For those who are fans of the group YES, their classic album "Close to the Edge" was released in a CD/DVD-A package last November, and you should be able to find it at a sub-$20 price from Best Buy, Amazon, etc.
In a few months, their YES ALBUM will also be released as a CD/DVD-A. Most of you have heard "I've Seen All Good People/Your Move" from this album, and it will sound awesome in the ELS system on DVD-A.

That's one of the downsides of the ELS system is that it will not play the audio from a DVD, even if it's DTS or Dolby Digital.
