Tire rotation interval?

I'm still trying to interpret The Acura Maintenance Schedules.

If I get a code "B1", does that mean they should do everything under "B" and then "1"?

The reason I ask, is we just had the car in for service. Had the tires rotated back at 7006 miles. I would have kind of expected them to rotate the tires this time again now at 13,036 miles.

Or no?

Called and spoke with them.

We (stupid, I know) purchased the pre-paid lifetime oil-changes and tire rotations plan.

That's up to 4 oil-changes and 2 rotations per year. The technician said in practice that means rotating the tires EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE.

Tires were rotated at 7006 on 1/18/13. This oil-change was at 13036, and is the "skip" rotation. Next one would be the rotation again.

The Technician said they measured the tread as 7.5 in the front and 7.0 in the back. He said you want the "better" tires in the front anyway, and that if they believed the tires should be rotated, they would have advised doing so....

Generally you want your better tires in the back.

I don't disagree, but it's apparently a controversial topic.

very controversial.

Acura's are VERY finicky with alignment.
I rotate my tires every oil change, for piece of mind.

i can spot damage/uneven wear quickly.

I have a 2006 FWD TL, tho.

My .02 re. Rotations

As usual justnspace nailed it.

I had my first rot. done @ 7K (1st oil change no coincidence) & now @ 15K+/- I will have my 2nd rot. done + the 2nd oil change.

Some may disagree here but @ EVERY rot. besides the standard frt. > rear, I also have them cross-rotated.

YMMV applies here as always & time for me to get back in my lane now.

The last Michelin tire warranty insert I read said to rotate every 5,000 miles. I like to do that anyway, especially with FWD vehicles, since they tend to get some unusual wear in front if not evened out by frequent rotation.

So for me, it's oil/filter change and tire rotation every 5,000 miles.

(Oh, and on the other topic, I want my deepest tread on the front, since that's where your steering takes place, not to mention the bulk of braking force.)

i also like my deeper tread at the front.
my fwd 6mt TL has major torque steer and needs a lot of meat up front to control it.
