LEDs for head and fog lights?
Hey All,
Curious, I've only seen an OLD thread in regards to updating the low beam and fog lights with cooler LED lights to give this older 2g RDX a more modern look. Any recommendations out there based on your positive experiences? Thanks in advance for your help!

Welp, just saw the thread below this for low light output and de-laminating. I inherited this '13 RDX which is well taken care of, with 85k miles. My desire to swap out the low beam and fog lights is to modernize the light output with more white bulbs...I find the yellow tinge makes it look dated. As for light output, I feel the stock setup is really fantastic and not lacking brightness at all.
Thank you for your post! I'd prefer to use LEDs for lower consumption and longer life. Seems there are so many options and it's a bit confusing...I believe the low beam and fog lights on the RDX are the same bulb, I just don't know how the low beam works as a DLR...I suppose it's the same lumens during the day and night?! Not sure...
lower consumption of what? longer life? If you buy an inferior LED product, it's not going to last longer than a genuine OEM product. Can you provide more info on your car? Can't say for certain if your car came with HID's or halogens to begin with.
The car has halogens. I understand that an inferior LED replacement won't last long, but I'm also concerned that placement of the LEDs on the bulb replacement will adversely affect how the light is projected. Curious if there are recommended LED replacements that are reasonably priced, reliable, a bit brighter, and definitely whiter. I saw the thread in regards to de-laminating reflectors and dim lights, but I don't believe my car is experiencing that, though I've yet to dig into it yet. I know halogens run hot so wondering if going to LEDs might prevent that issue from happening though I assume it probably would have happened already if that was the case.
The problem is you want to put LED bulbs into a headlight designed to distribute light from halogen bulbs. This will cause the light pattern to not be as designed, and could possibly cause more damage than Halogens to the reflectors and such. Same case with Xenon bulbs in a halogen designed headlight.

Thanks all for the replies. I replaced all of the internal bulbs w/ LEDs and like them. They are significantly brighter and I prefer the whiter light...even though it doesn't match the map lights that don't have exchangeable bulbs.
I understand the dilemma here and thought that maybe there were some LED bulbs that were good replacements that people were happy with. Sounds like that is not the case. I don't want to spend the significant $ to exchange the lights to 2016+ headlamps because it doesn't bother me that much so looks like my best option is to get whiter halogen replacements per the suggestion of @Alex Medeiros
