installing HIDS in 2013 rdx base

Hello everyone, just like the title says, i am planning on installing HIDS in my rdx base.
i have ordered the H11 kit from retrofit store that will be arriving on friday.
now i apologize in advance if this has been asked before. i was not able to find a DIY for Rdx.

the plan is to remove the front bumper. and install
1- Do i have to remove the headlights also?
2- Is there a place to mound the ballast or i just have to be innovative with it?
3- Anything i should be careful about?

thanks in advance

1) you dont have to remove headlights.
2) you have to be innovative in the way you mount the ballast.
3) be mindful of power source (battery) disconnect negative terminal when working with electronics. additionally, you might have to drill a hole into the cap or cover of the headlight to fish wires through.
basically, you dont have to follow an RDX specific diy....MOST DIY's will show you what you need to do

thanks for the reply.
question about drilling hole in the cap, do i have to seal it somehow to protect it from getting water damaged?
how hard is taking the front bumper off?

thanks again

yes, seal the hole in the cap with an epoxy.
front bumpers are easy...a few screws and the rest clips.

While I think the retrofit source is a great company, why not just use LEDs? They are almost literally plug and play, with no drilling, additional wiring, or removing parts (other than the old bulbs) from your vehicle. An almost instant upgrade.

Because LED's suck at this time. the aftermarket LEDs are nowhere near prime time.
HID's however, have been perfected and cost has even tapered off..to where it's EXTREMELY affordable.
