Clunk Noise - Rapid Acceleration Only - Front
When I launch the vehicle - rapidly - I hear a clunk from somewhere in the front, on the passenger side. Doesn't matter how warm or cold the vehicle is, it's NOT the struts (those are brand new and the clunk was there before I replaced them), it's NOT the sway bar links (cuz those are new too - replaced at the same time as the front struts). Regular low or even medium speed starts from a stop are not a problem, but if I have to GO, it clunks - every time. CV Joint maybe?
Thanks in advance for the thoughts.

engine mounts would be my guess.
Pop your hood, keep your foot on the brake and shift through the gears and have someone see if there's any excess movement in the engine

Look through the service bulletins up in the stickies. Also, what king of parts were installed and by whom. I think there are some items to be addressed
at the top mounting of the struts. Check the TSBs. An independent mechanic may not know about that stuff.

Thanks all. First, the struts were changed by myself and a friend - ALL bolts were tightened to spec with a Torque wrench. The clunk was there both before and after the strut change out.. I checked the TSBs, I had a dealer go through the car with any / all appropriate TSBs associated with the car - BEFORE I posted anything about not being able to find the "clunk" sound. The only TSB that was "close" was the transmission judder - but the dealer didn't find anything wrong or along that line. The only thing they recommended was an ATF change (for $200!).
Update: I had the car aligned late last week (new shocks & struts - so yeah, needed an alignment). After the alignment, the clunk appears to be gone. So, something wasn't tight enough in the front suspension - but now it is.
Thanks again!
