Accessory Regrets?

Put about 2k miles on our rdx & all i've done is wash it & the oem all weather mats... daily i contemplate ordering the running boards and maybe some splash guards but I mentally shoot myself down.

I'm a little less motivated to do the work like i used to be lol

Anyhow, anyone have any Accessory impulse options or buys that suggest or regret?

Maybe i should look into something i'll actually use for the car?

Thanks in advance & hope this helps other people in the same boat.

I have OEM weather mats. Not a huge fan. Should have waited for weather tech...a good addition was the rear bumper protection film.

I'm thinking about the splash guards. We had them on our CR-V and I think they were worthwhile. Any comments re: RDX would be appreciated.

Amber, did you install the bumper film yourself?

I added splash guards myself ... happy I did . I tried the bumper film and ended up peeling it off and discarding due to air packets ... $50+ wasted .. seems as you need 3M solution to clean first ... another $40 ...

After DW closed the garage door on the open liftgate TWICE...I wish I had found a REAR brush bar!

It doesn't take much to reach black plastic under that white paint!

I did it myself. I used soapy warm water. The squeegee that is supplied with the film works really well. I had a little trouble getting the edges of the film at the corner of the bumper to lay flat but a little heat from a heat gun, lots of patience and more soapy water got er done.

I am happy with the splash guards. Installed myself and it is simple and does not take much time. Also happy with the cargo liner. No other accessories and don't see any others that interest me.

Are you speaking of the rear mudguards. I guess they are standard in Canada if that's what you are talking about.

I have the protector but haven't installed it yet. I saw somewhere that the 3M stuff is just water, alcohol, and a few drops of dish soap.

I'd like to find some protectors that fit behind the door handles. Our CR-V got scratched up there a lot worse than I expected so I'd like to protect the RDX. I think you can buy sheets of the film but it might be a challenge to cut it to fit properly.

I second the original front floor mats regret (the back ones are fine, BTW). It works but I don't like as it does not have a form fitting like the WeatherTech ones do. I finally ordered WeatherTech digitally fit front mats and I like it a lot better.

Wow .. I have the OEM weather mats and thought they were okay, a bit more plastic-y vs. rubber-y than I'd like but still okay.

I also DIY added the wood trim and wood shifter. Looks great with the parchment interior for added warmth.

Dealer pre-installed wheel locks, all-weather mats, rear all-weather cargo mat, and then splash guards. I think it's standard for all NW dealers. Didn't need the wheel locks, but the mats and splash guards are great.

Only accessory I've added is the rear cargo cover. Really disappointed it didn't come standard. The rear bumper applique would be a nice addition but not anything that's necessary for me. I need a roof rails/rack but the OEM is damn expensive. Yakima's alternative is way too ugly for this car.

I would like the roof rack but I'm not paying the dealer $2000
