2016 Rear Right Passenger Side Window
2016 Rear Right Passenger Side Window
The rear passenger side window will not go down from either the master power window switch or from the individual rear passenger side switch. I am guessing that since both switches are not operating the window, this would seem to rule out the switch as the problem. I do not think that I have used that window in three years. Any thoughts?
Thank you.
Thank you.
When I use the switch from the master, every time I push it (or is it pull?), a click can be heard from the individual rear passenger side switch. Not continuous. Only when the switch is operated. I don't think the same click can be heard when trying from the from the individual rear passenger side switch. Other than that, no noise.
That may be the case because I can't remember the last time that the window was used. Certainly, it has been a few years at a minimum. Assuming that is the problem, do you have any idea how I may be able to try to free it up?
Here's what I found:

Press and hold the window switch in a closed position. Keep the button depressed and push the side that closes the window.
Open and slam the car door while the window button is depressed. Try it a few times until the window opens.
If it does not work, close the door and find the door panel to check for areas in contact with the sheet metal inside the door.
With the power window button depressed, hit the area with your fist or some blunt object. Be careful not to damage your door or hurt yourself.

Thank you for your post.
The link does not work, but I assume it contains the same instructions that you copied and pasted. In the first sentence, what is meant by "Keep the button depressed and push the side that closes the window."? Push the side that closes the window?
I'm away this week but will be able to try this weekend.

I believe the article is saying to hold the switch button down and push the door out (like open it).

I've had ongoing issues with the power window on another vehicle.
Taking the motor apart and cleaning the armature with electrical contact cleaner has solved it, but the problem always comes back. I've been meaning to replace it.
Could be a similar issue with yours? You'll have to take the door apart. Make sure any metal-on-metal moving parts are lubed.
