2013 RDX - Pre-delivery checklist?
Hi all,
New to the forum - just sealed the deal on a 2013 White / Ebony RDX Tech. (Canadian Model - In Toronto)
Picking up the car this Thursday evening and was wondering if there is a specific pre-delivery checklist available (for this car, or similar) to ensure all is well before signing the final contract.
Of course I'll check the basics, but have never picked up a BRAND NEW car before so just want to ensure I've considered everything.
Appreciate the support and looking forward to contributing to the forum!
Thanks

They had all other colours but never white. I bought a white one without seeing it and then they had to ask another dealer if they could take their next white delivery and trade for another colour.
Seen many pics and definitely know I made the right choice
Cablerat - look at the Maintenance Booklet when you go to the dealer. It has the pre-delivery checklist that the dealer is supposed to go through. You may want to verify that it is all checked off and even go through it again yourself.
Things I would look for would include:
-Making sure the paint is all in good order (especially door and hood edges and bumpers)
-Check the interior for any scuffs, scratches, or flaws (I missed the wrinkle in my headliner because I didn't sit in the backseat when picking mine up)
-The dealer should go over the tech features with you and even help pair your phone to the car.
-Basic maintenance stuff - location of the spare and jack, oil and transmission dipsticks, etc.
And don't be afraid to ask questions.
Congrats on your new ride!

Picked up the car recently... Pics to come!
Found 1 stone chip on plastic bumper under the license plate. Dealer is going to touch up and give me a paint stick kit for future.
Noticed yesterday that my driver side tweeter has a bit of distortion thats intermittent. Happens anytime... Going to wait a bit on that one to make sure im not nuts...
Gonna post in separate note, but either im nuts or my trunk open button (next to vsa button) does nothing.. Dont see anything in the book referencing that button either...
Anyway, weekend is here, gonna go play now

You need to hold the button down for a couple of seconds. I think the engine must also be off.
The button is discussed on page 107 of the on-line manual - not sure about the hard copy.
Congrats!
To all concerning operational issues with their new RDX's. I implore everyone....as boring as it may seem....but, really helpful and necessary.....break out your Owner's Manual and for Tech. models open the Tech. Operations Manual. Together they are well over 500 pages. Use the Table of Contents and find your subject area and go to that section and read. These vehicles are so electronically and mechanically advanced today that reading those manuals is imperative, just to understand what the car offers and how to work it. Then if you still don't understand operations, work with the Serv. Mgr. at your dealer.
But, I'm sure in most all cases reading the "book" will take care of most all questions. They are pretty well written. I used to write Tech. manuals...and these are "pretty good." Could give a little more info. at times, but, not bad. I downloaded them both from Acura, since I don't have my RDX yet, just to look at some areas. I discovered there is MUCH more to this vehicle than meets the eye...and for sure much more than any dealer's rep. would have told you!!! Mainly 'cause they don't know either!! That's just a fact.
Did you know you can adjust the brightness of the inside lights after you close the door, and then, of course, how long you want those lights to stay on??
The list goes on and on from there. Lots and lots of "little things" that you never guessed you had on this vehicle. One dealer didn't know you could MANUALLY raise and lower the rear hatch, without having to use the electric motor assist. I had to show him where the hand latch release was!! He said, "Oh, I didn't know that." Just imagine what else he doesn't know about HIS Acura RDX that he's trying to sell us??? LOL!!!
