When Your Tranny Blows @ 80 mph!

A lot of guys Have wondered how dangerous it is for your tranny to go while on the highway. A of today, I can tell you from my experience nothing really happened.

The engine just reved up and then the car was disabled. I managed to limp the car to the gas station. (RIP Tranny/ 75,000 miles)

Damn Acuura and their crappy trannies!!! I bought an Acura so I wouldn't have to worry about this stuff! Oh well, now I'll have a reason to buy a G35 coupe in a year or so (right before the 100l warranty)

It had been slipping very slightly for the last few months. I just kept telling myself that my car wasnt one of the messed up ones...DOH! But at least Acura Carland was really helpful and gave me a TL with navi for the next week or so. This car is so bad ass, I really dont mind never getting my CL-S ever fixed.

My last 3 cars have been a stick and never had problems with them except clutch slipping time to time

happy to kno that the car doesnt blow up when your auto tranny fails lol

keep the TL, its Acura's fault they didnt properly design their auto transmission in the first place!

on teh 4AT's on first gen 3.0's or v6 accords it would downshift to second if it failed on the highway while in third.
