Reliability of 2003 6 MT?

Hey guys. I'm in the market to buy a new car. I really like the 2nd gen CL, particularly, the 2003 CL Type-S with a 6 speed manual. Now, I know that the transmissions in the CL are notorious for failure. I heard that the manual transmission, only offered in 03 are more reliable. Could someone with a 03 6mt give me their experiences?
Much Thanks, Yanni

200k miles original clutch no problems, my buddy has a boosted cl no problems, the 6mt will last the auto won't. Are you sure you read the forums cause there are plenty of posts saying there are no issues with the manuals.

My 6mt just broke at 175K. Heck, I drive it like a little old lady. Mechanic says 3rd & 4th are gone and there's noises. Talking +$5K for clutch/tranny. Arrrgh, I like this car!

what Im trying to get at is, your mechanic is gouging you by the balls.

that's dealership prices. might as well go to a dealership and get a warranty if you're going to pay $5k

Here's one in Dallas, the closest one near me for $800.

FYI; I'm currently running a junk yard motor.

You need a new synchro sleeve + synchro kit for 3rd & 4th gear. It's like a $250 part.

But while you're at it, you'll want to replace the:
* input shaft bearing, input shaft bearing seal (about $40)
* 1-2 synchro sleeve / synchros
* 5-6 synchro sleeve / synchros

It's about $600-700 in parts.
