Get the tranny checked out right away.

If you played with your own tranny I can't say too much about having too much fluid in there or anything but this was what happened to me:

Driving home from work I noticed that the tranny was feeling funny. I was shifting a bit slower than normal but still did what was asked. The next morning after a couple stop lights I felt like something was getting worse. Finally I left a stop light (not fast, normal speed) and the car wouldn't stay in gear. If would rev really high and slam into gear (and the car would move forward a little bit) and then slip out of gear again. Repeat until you can't stay in gear at all...then call Acura. This was with a 2003 CL-S that was supposed to be "fixed" as far as the tranny issues.

If this sounds like anything like what you are experiencing then don't put up with the dealership talk and tell then that you KNOW that there is a problem with the tranny and they need to look at it!

If you're not over 100, then they'll replace it. If you're over, then they'll probably give you hell.

I just took mine up to the dealer on monday.... They told me that everything was good and there were no leaks or codes that were thrown. So I leave the dealer and the fuckin tranny slips twice! I turn around in a fury and go back in there... The guy tells me "Can you come back later were completley slammed" But with my work schedule I cant get there till next week.

I believe that I've had enough of this shit.... I decided that I am gonna contact acura myself to deal with this dealer..... I've been there about 1/2 a dozen times and everytime they tell me some bull-shit!

do any of yall know who I can contact to get this taken care of?

The closest other dealer is about 100 miles! So im stuck w/ these assholes!

Can you elaborate on this 113K thing? Mine is at 112K right now and it just started having problems literally 3 days ago, revving up to 4000 rpm before finally shifting into 3rd. It doesn't do it all the time yet, but yesterday it happened 3 times.

A couple weeks earlier I noticed harder shifts from 2nd to 3rd but I thought it just may be due to the colder weather. The harder shifts went away but now this revving problem is a lot worse. Imagine the car revving the engine like this when you're driving in the snow or otherwise slippery roads. It could cause you to lose traction and crash!

Anyway, should I just not drive it until this lawsuit issue is resolved? Luckily I have a 2nd car so I can just park my Acura for a while if it means I can get the tranny replaced. I love the car but it's really not worth it to replace the tranny if it's going to cost me several thousand dollars!!! I would rather use the money to buy a new car.

The worst part is the nearest Acura dealer is more than an hour away and at this point I'm afraid to even drive that far because I don't want get get stranded or worse, have the transmission lock up in 2nd gear when I'm going 75mph!!!!

My car is a 2001 model so unfortunately I don't qualify for the odometer settlement since it applies only to 2002 and newer.

I am now at 112,400 miles and the transmission is now constantly slipping in 3rd gear. It even slips when trying to accelerate on the highway when it downshifts from 5th. And the TCS and Check Engine lights just came on today. I had the code pulled at Autozone and its "P0740 Torque Converter Failure".

I am an hour away from the nearest Acura dealer and there is no way I am driving the car that far with a broken transmission. There is a Honda dealership 5 miles away but I heard they will not do any warranty work on Acuras. Should I call the Acura customer service 1-800 number? What are the chances they will replace the tranny for free at this point?

Here's a quote from the site:

"If you bought or leased a model year 2002 through 2006 Honda or Acura automobile or a model year 2007 Honda Fit, in the United States or its territories, between April 13, 2002 and November 7, 2006, you may be entitled to receive benefits under a class action settlement."
