Do I even need to ask if these are symptoms?

Takin this slush tranny into the dealer tomorrow. Up until about 2 weeks ago, my shifts were nice and firm. 2 weeks ago, 1-2 shift seemed slushy, but my 2-3 shift was fine. Driving home tonight, I'm at a stop light. Light goes green, my 1-2 shift was around 30 mph and all of a sudden, BAMN!! My head jerked forward, and it felt like I just rear ended someone. Thank god it was under slower speeds, unlike some of the other members here.

Taking it in tomorrow. Probably will be a tranny failure with a new one installed. I had the oil jet kit put in over a year ago, and just last weekend, I had the 50k mile tune up done (could it be from the tranny flush?). Probably will be without a car for 2 weeks or so. Fun stuff.

Just this morning, almost the scariest thing ever. Going 50mph down the highway, all of a sudden it locked up. It felt like I slammed on my brakes, the tires started chirping, and the guy behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting my rear. Fucking Bullshit!!!

Took it to the dealer this morning. About a week for the new trans. Sorry car, I loved you, but you failed me this time. lol

I dropped mine off early in the morning, and it was done by 5pm the next day. Since they've done so many, I think they keep a supply on hand and have the process down to a science.

Unfortunately that wont be my case. They said 2-3 days for the trans to come in. Sweet deal for you though.

Why do you say that? The first one lasted pretty long. Surprised about that considering I use SS mode about 85% of the time. Dont know if that has anything to do with it. Oh well, I will be getting it back on tuesday they said.

they say ss mode is better? you can keep it from switching between 2nd and 3rd gear over and over, which is supposed to be most of the problem...lots of times in traffic i keep it in 2nd and lose the gas mileage but keep it from changing gears all the time.

Eh, if it's under warranty, I would rather keep going through transmissions, then leaving it in second at a 4k rpm idle all the time.

What do you do when the 100k warrenty is over and you have had 5 transmissions installed over that time?

It has me a bit worried to say the least.

Well, when your 100k mile warranty is over, unfortunately most dealers will not cover you. That's why most people either sell their car around that mark, otherwise risk having it happen again, only to pay out of pocket the cost for a new transmission.

I can't understand how they chose 100k miles as the cutoff. I could see if you've never had problems, then an arbitrary cutoff makes sense, but if your car has a history of needing new transmissions, they should cover you for the life of the car.

I heard someone got the car replaced as a Lemon...I wish I had thought of that!
