Tein H-Techs
Tein H-Techs
I am finally gonna drop my CL-S and I just wanted to see if anyone else has something close to these. I have seen
any number of different suspension setups. Does anyone have the Tein H-Techs?
http://www.tein.com/tech_info/h94-ya4.html
I did a little photoshop with some rough measurements and came up with this. It looks a little lower than the pics
on the website but i do have 19's.

AFTER:

I am looking at the H-Techs because of the limited drop. I don't want the car slammed, i just want to close the gap
without major mods to the suspension or a camber kit. This springs are designed to be used with stock suspension
parts so i don't have to worry about blowing my new parts. I am going to have the fenders rolled/cut to
accommodate the lowering. I haven't decided which yet, I'm still partial to both. There is a local tire shop that
will roll 'em for $25 each.
I would like to see if anyone has this springs or similar setup. Opinions welcome.

I have H.techs. The springs are cushy, im guessing close to the stock ride feel. but looks much better then 4x4 stock. less strain on your suspension compared to S.Techs. but i do miss the awesome handling of my S.Techs.
htechs will get u nowhere close to the "after" pic u posted. Its hardly a noticable change, people will ask you "so when are u gonna lower it". Go with stechs or eibachs. Oh and u wont need to roll fenders with htechs

Haha, i never even noticed that. You would think that a company would try to represent their product properly...not cool! You really think I won't need to pull the fenders at all with the drop?
The H-techs I have on my CL-S looks more like your Before pic than the After one. Nice ride, but w/ a bit more initial body lean than I expected. Suspension aligns within spec. You may have to roll your rear fenders depending on offset/tire combo.
If I were to do it again I would get H&R Sports and call it a day...in fact I have a set of these ready to go on next week.

pics as requested. but OP is looking to run with 19's so i dunno how they would look. This is 18's with 235/40/18 tires. A 45 series tire will close up the wheel gap some more. Right now its 2 fingers in the back and 3 in the front. I have a system in the trunk also.
Gap might be different with 19's and different series tires.

I know I keep preaching about this B@G set-up but i'm telling you It looks GREAT and everyone that drives my car cant belive how great it feels and handles (I also have progress RSB) But I found a whole new love for my car after the B@G and RSB!
BTW it drops it 1.6 inches and no need for camber kit and tires are wearing evenly after 3 months of having it!

not sure what you mean by close up straight on the front but here are some more pics of the front end:

The ride is cushy, soft but im guessing its good because we're running 40 series tires. my guess is that the ride is pretty close to stock but i never rode on stock springs before. Its comfortable for sure, keeping the CL a great crusier but there is noticable body roll when taking corners at higher speeds. im on stock shocks so the feeling maybe improved with a rear sway bar and upgraded shocks. Its high enough so that i never scrape my front or backend and never rub my fenders. but since your running 19's you may have to roll the rears if you have a big system or go over big bumps quickly.
Thanks for the compliment. I see your running 5 spokes as well

Yeah man, i love 5-spokes! I just put new shocks in a couple months ago so we'll see how the ride is. They are a step up from OEM but not performance ones by any means.
I've been looking into the sway bar as well. lots of threads on noticeable change in handling. The car has some decent body roll already, so getting that tighter would be great.
found it before you:

Haha, i was thinking the same thing when i did the PS. I thought i did a good job 'measuring' the pic so i could do a decent guess of what it might look like. but when <aznboi2424> posted those pics i knew that was what i wanted.
if you got a set up like you had in the photoshop, it looks almost certain that you would have rubbed unless you did some pretty MAJOR modification to the front and rear splash guards and rear fender.
With H-Techs, im sure you'll be okay with just fender rolling/cutting in the back.
