Fine Art Wheel from RonJon...(updated progress pg. 2)
Inspired by the Sharpie lambo, I decided to draw on one of my sample wheels.
I was messing around, and I came up with this as a way to refinish my wheels. Silver with marker drawings on the wheel, really intricate. i'm actually going to make a very intricate, more thought out design with a meaning on the wheels, then have it preserved with clearcoat.
I know some may chop it down, and some may like it, but when it's done, with the proper lip color, I know it will be a neck breaker and the most unique wheel on the planet.

Damn! You got some skillz with the pen. Seeing a message in their is gonna be even crazier.
Just googled the Sharpie Lambo WOW.
You thinking about producing something like this for sale? What about custom designs, names, sponsors, etc. Could you do a laser etch? 3D?
You're on to something hear for sure I like it.

thanks, I'm sending the wheels tomorrow to get disassembled, then I'm going to wet sand them, clean em, draw on them and have them re-cleared. I'm going to draw with black and white markers on top of Silver. I'm thinking of making the lip a semi polished / semi satin with powder clear for an even more artsy feel, almost antique. I'll show the progress the whole way.

Thanks, the lip is going to be a fine brushed aluminum fin ish, with minimal reflection and alot of luster, and the clearcoat that is going over the lip will be slightly tinted black, so the lip will offset the Liquid Silver face with the black design on it. I'm also extending the lip size by half an inch while I'm at it since I won't be that low and I'm looking to get the deepest lip possible.
Picks of the disassembled wheels being sanded tomorrow.

Knowing me, soon they will be parted, I already have the Blanks for the Sentinel wheel on there way here to be milled out and machined. The Sentinel wheel has been converted to a forged one piece wheel.

Those are saweeet!
So the design didn't end up going on to that inner lip (where the rivets are) and just the spokes?
Damn...I like the DT3's!
They are quite pricey IMO.
At the show we had recently in San Francisco's Japan Town...
There were some wheels I noticed that had designs and art printed on the lip only...
Ever think about doing something like that?
Just throwing it out there.

thanks, I love them too.
We can change the lips out from 3" to 6 inch if we have to with absolutely no problems, on 19" or 20", we can refinish the lips any color you like and also refinish the face any color you like, then add the graphics. This is basically the ultimate custom wheel for your needs. Call me if your really interested.
