Question eibach pro kit

ok so i was thinking in getting the springs from eibach part number 4041.140. It says its a 2 inch drop in the front and 1.7 drop in the back. Has anyone purchased these springs before? Have you had any issues with rubbing or bottoming out? I currently have stock rims and tires.

Tons of info found by using search...

I'm relatively new too but like all car forums, you can find exactly what you need especially when it comes to the 2G for that matter since a ton of members have owned one for years so suspension threads are loaded with good info if you take time to search or prepare to get flamed on the above question!

Search the suspension forum.

But a quick answer to your question is no, it wont rub with the stock wheels/tires.

Yea, you need to search. I know its annoying, but everything this is there that you need to know. I researched for a very long time before deciding to go with these.

what wheels are those, would look even sweeter with the recessed spokes painted gunmetalor something
(first thing that comes to mind are they are from the newest tl's, but they have the wrong boltpattern then, but you couldv'e adapted them though , idk)

Thanks, they're Mazdaspeed 3 wheels. I was going to powdercoat them the HFP carbon bronze but dont have the funds right now and im not rattle caning it so theyll stay in this form. Here is my thread on them https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-tires-wheels-suspension-54/18-ms3-wheels-mounted-757877/

Yes the Eibach Pro Kit is the perfect spring for the CL/TL. It lowers it just enough and doesn't sacrifice ride quality and it won't rub if you have the correct size tire and offset.

You'll be fine with 18" wheels and it won't rub. I'm running 20" wheels on mine with a 2" drop all the way around.

Are any of you guys that have installed these springs not using camber kits? If not what kinda wear are you experiencing?

you need a rear camber kit, but the front is fine, and actually kinda nice with the needed additional camber up there

and most people like the ingall's camber kit for the rear, for one thing it is a whole lot easier to adjust then the SPC kit

This is my alignment sheet with Eibach prokit/illuminas. Only thing out of spec. was rear left camber by .2 and thats not worth it to get a camber kit because its toe that eats tires and they got toe within spec

I havent noticed any unusual wear yet, but I have only driven maybe 500 miles since lowering it.

hard to read some of the numbers

but i know 1.5 degress of rear camber is still within spec, but it is still quite a bit on the excessive side (i only have 0.6 rear camber right now and might go to 0.9-1.0 next time), just know that the inside edges are going to wear quite a bit more then the outside edges
but one nice thing about that rear camber is it won't let the car be as tail happy, as some of our cars out there

and yes toe is the most critical angle as far as tire wear goes

Hmm, im going to have to keep watching my tires, I kinda assumed that if its within manufacturers specs it wouldnt wear improperly

think about the early NSX's with honda being sued over excessive tire wear due to the alignment specs, it was designed for the performance aspect of it with tire wear coming second, but people still did not like it :shakehead, so they had to revise the specs

and they won't really be wearing improperly, just a little excessive from the nature of your alignment specs (a little on the aggressive side)

and as far as alignments go, the best camber for even tire edge wear would be absolutly 0 degrees of camber, and 0 degrees of toe; but with those specs the car would not be totally stable, with not much cournering ability (also for toe you kinda gotta compensate for suspension give as you roll along the road [which is why they call for a little toe in on the rear])

How wide are your wheels & what offset are they? What size tires did you go with? I would like to buy some wheels that are 20" x 8.5" and wrap them in 245/30/20 tires...
