Wtf D5 Is Blinking
Hey fellas I need some help. I had taken my CL to the mechanic to have my motor mounts replaced. When i took it home I noticed that the D5 on the cluster is blinking. Does anyone know why this is happening? Help would be very much appreciated!
It sounds like you need to take it back where you got it replaced at and tell them the problem, more than likely you might have another falty tranny. Are you having any erratic downshifting, if so it most likely is another one biting the dust!
Actually the transmission is working excellent and smooth. I read in another thread that it can be from the engine mooving out of its place (like if you redline too much). This could be the situation when they were changing the motor mounts..who knows. Anyway I think i am going to try to unplud and plug the batteries and see what happens. If that doesent work, off to the mechanic again

A faulty wheel speed sensor would cause other problems and would definitely set off a CEL and the VSA lights.
D5 blinking is a characteristic of transmission problems but it may not be. The only way to tell is to get a scan tool and see if a DTC has been stored.

speed sensor
There are many things that could be wrong. Your best bet is to bring it in and have them read codes. When mine was blinking it was a trans temp sensor. If they replaced the trans mounts they could have damaged it as its right behind one of them
Anytime D5 is flashing it is indicating an electrical fault with the transmission that is not severe enough to set a CEL DTC. If a wire from one of the trans solenoids or sensors became loose or unplugged when the mounts were replaced that would cause it, You will need someone with a Honda HDS scantool to read the A/T Codes and it will tell you which connector to check.
unfortunately, a standard code reader won't give you the specific Automatic Transmission codes, you need to see a honda/acura dealer and have them pull the code using the HDS scantool. An OBD2 reader like they use at autozone will only give you the check engine light generic codes, for the trans there will be a P0700 A/T failure code set but you need to access the other menu to get the specific failure.
