Trunk Lid Screw Size

Hi, right now my trunk is just slamming down and I realized it is because my torsion bars are not secured to the roof. Does anyone know the specific screw size for the metal bracket? (pic attached)

That center bracket's weld(s), holding the torsion bar center clip, to the body have separated. I just check the one in my CLS6. You will need to reattach it somehow. Probably with some type of metal screws from the hardware store?

Try a needle nose Visegrip to hold the bracket in place.

@KAD

Hey KAD, if you are still out there, this is how I fixed the problem you mention above. I used four sheet metal screws to secure the bracket that separated from its factory welds. After removing the Navi box & shelf it sits on, First, I removed the bracket from the trunk torsion bars then drilled four holes in the bracket. Second, I held the bracket in the area where it originally was attached, marked and drilled pilot holes for the four sheet metal screws. Third, then screwed the bracket to the area it was formally welded to. It does not look pretty; however, it fixed this PIA problem. Sorry for the crappy pictures, but you'll get the idea. We'll see how long it holds up.
