So just spent $5K on my 2001 CL type-s (transmission, timing belt, tires, shocks) and now the ECM maybe bad.
What are my replacement options?
Anyone have a spare for sale?

Check the BM, but I doubt it. Also remember that you need the key with it or your immobilizer wont work.

Who did the work? If it was a dealer, and you got the car back with the ECM not working properly, they most likely did something.

Is your engine running ? Repairs you have done should not affect ECM in any way, so if it is , in fact bad ECM , it might be coincidetal. I got ECM I can sell ,from 2001 S type Part # 37820-PGE-A55. Do not have key for it so it will have to be reprogrammed.

Well because I think the ECU is bad…I bought a new code reader (just like me current one, in case it was broken and it had the same issue, could not link to the computer(ECU))

I do not think the ECU is related to the work I had done. The car had failed to idle a few times over the last two years, I think this was related to the ECU. The car is currently running.
So what do you mean by BM?

My engine is running.
I am not sure what you mean by “Do not have key for it so it will have to be reprogrammed”. Who can reprogram it?
What is the key for(should I HAVE ONE)?

weird that the CEL codes wouldnt read. I mean all you do is plug the reader into the port with the keys in the ON position and that should do it.

If you got your ECM fried, you wont be able to link into it and read the codes. I would check 15A fuse 46 - under hood passanger side, than pin # 16 in obd plug - left top corner - you should have battery voltage @ all times, pin#12 top row 5 from the left - shuld be ground. That is pretty much all you can verify by yourself. .... immobiliser in our cars is built into ECM, so if you do not have egnition key that matches stored information, you wont be able to start your car. Only dealership or somebody with HDS unit is capable of reflushing ECM. It is like installing new windows on your computer, They erase ECM memory and reinstall everything - and it is done over the internet from honda server

Hey Celynka,

I don't have the ability to send PM's yet, since I just joined this forum. My cousin needs an PCM for her CL. If you still have yours, please send me an email at dans_e30m3 (at) yahoo (dot) com, I'm interested in it.
I'm located in Arlington Heights, IL.
Thanks,

Dan

Because I cannot see in the dark 
So after weeks of the check engine light on and the ODBC 2ocoonecter hooked up (which I did in the dark) and buying a new code reader and taking it back as it could not read codes. I looked at the connection in the day light (as I had never unhooked the cable). The ODBC connector was nicely clipped under the connector.
So I got the code and reset the light. A few weeks later the light came on again. And it was the same issue. It seem that when I accelerate for more that say 40+ seconds at full throttle it set he admonitions light. (hey it was an M3, he pulled on me at 80 and I caught him at 120 when rolled off and then he never caught me). Of course this KMPH 
