Is this a suspension issue?

Thanks for checking my post, I need as much input as possible.

I have had a 03 CL-s for the past year and half and to date have gone through 3 sets of rims and tires due to my rim bending or tire going flat everytime I hit a crack of some type on the road.

I have installed Tanabe NF series springs which lowers the car less than an inch and have 18 in rims with 225/40 18 tires.

I understand if I'm hitting pot holes on the road constantly but I don't, even going over cracks of uneven surfaces seem to cause damage to my wheels.

Can this be a suspension issue? Maybe new shocks?

I used to ride on 19's when I had an Infiniti G and I never had any issues like this, even when hitting minor pot holes...and these are on the streets of LA.

Do I just need to ride on 17's with thicker tires? I'am clueless and on the verge of getting rid of the car because of the grief with replacing tires.

If I forgot any info please let me know, thanks again.

Not sure if those springs are too tough and maybe make the ride too stiff ?

LA streets are bad man, it also depends on the type of tires you are using Ihope you are not using low profile tires down there....light weight wheels?? Brand??

Tires are Hankook Ventus V4 225/40 18 and the wheels are Katana Ninja series, they are lightweight wheels.

Any spring that lowers the CL an inch can't be stiff. My Tein H-Techs, which lowers the car 1.2 inches on stock shocks, is as soft as stock.

I say slow down and try to avoid the potholes. Wouldn't hurt to check if the shocks are blown.

Well I was kind of making that point too ^ .

We dont know how many miles he has on the car and you take the old struts and throw lowering springs on there ? no bueno .

Thanks for all the input, I purchased the vehicle used and am not sure if the struts were replaced prior to. When I had the springs installed the struts seemed fine, however I think I will start with replacing the struts and possibly going thicker on the tires since I have the wheel space. Hoping this will somewhat relieve the issue.

Any suggestions on struts/shocks? Again I have Tanabe NF series that only lowered 0.5-1 in.

Thanks again.

Yea, 225/40 is considered low pro but is no means are rubberbands, you should have that many bent wheels and blown tires unless the potholes are bad and your speeding.

My car is on stock shocks with 130k on them. Nothing leaking so I think I'll keep them for now.
