Reverse mirror function not working

03 CL-Type S 6MT, Reverse does not activate the automatic tilt down of the passenger mirror anymore. It worked for about a week after I bought the car, but now it doesnt do anything. I checked the connection already, it is connected at the shifter, but I dont know where to look other than that. Any pointers are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Is your mirror adjust selector in the center position?

My mirror control switch is in the correct center position. But recently and continuing when I put the car in reverse, the passenger door mirror turns inward toward the door instead of turning down for parking assist.
All other functions (left, right, up, down) work properly for both door mirrors when the master control switch is pushed from the center position to either left (driver) or right (passenger).

Any thoughts why passenger mirror is not pointing down while car is in reverse?

it could be wired wrong. a lot of times when the mirror actuator gets replaced, the harness gets replaced as well; and the harness has to be re-pinned into the connector. its really easy to stick the wrong pin in the wrong spot on the connector. if you could get ahold of a wiring diagram with connector views and wire colors, you could double check that each wire is in its correct spot in the connector.

BagII, Thanks for the wiring chart. No prior mirror work was done on the car.
It just stopped tilting down in reverse and going left instead. However, my kid
(her car) did report that she detected
smoke in the interior cabin but we have not been able to detect any smoke
since and do not know if the two are related.
As I interpret your chart, it begs the questions:
1.) When the car is put into reverse, is there another switch (other than the master control on the driver door, that sends power to the passenger door switch terminal 3?
(E.g. A transmission control switch)
2.) If yes, do you know where that switch is located?

All functions of the passenger door mirror seem to be working EXCEPT the parking assist down position operation when the transmission is in reverse. I am not disagreeing with
you that a pin could be misplaced, but at the moment I am not suspecting that since the normal left, right, up, down functions are working when the car is not in reverse.

I hope to get her car back this weekend for some additional checking.

Sounds like the outside mirror memory pins may be disengaged.

EE4LIFE, Thanks much. That bulletin solved the problem. I can not believe how much time I put in to attempt to solve this issue when all the while it was just a 30 second manual mirror adjustment. I had gone to a Honda / Acura mechanic who said it definitely was a broken mirror assembly and needed to be replaced. I had also gone to a junk yard and pulled a mirror off of a 2001 CL only to find out that it was incompatible with my 2002. I was also considering pulling the driver's door panel off and inspecting the power mirror master switch.
You are alright with me.
