Problem with the audio system
Yeah, the night before I take my car to a body shop to get a few dings and gashes taken care of, my CD player doesn't work! Great timing, right? As soon as I get one thing squared away, another comes along.
Basically what happened is I went in to go eject all the CDs, it got to disc 5, then it wouldn't pop the disc out. The door opened, I can see the disc, I can hear the whirring noise like the whatever mechanism that pulls the disc out, is moving, but the disc won't move. I tried pushing the disc back in a fraction of an inch so the CD player can try again, but no.... still won't work. I thought "oh well... I'll deal with that later" so I try to move on to disc 6... but it won't do anything.
Now every time I turn on the CD player, it won't even let me try to eject the discs again, it just says "ER-E1" on the display. I checked the owner's manual which said if you get that error message, to "consult your Acura dealer"
Fuck that, at this point I'd rather just throw the CD player away and re-buy the 2 CDs stuck inside, than go to the dealer. Has anyone ever had to go through anything like this? I'm assuming I'm probably going to have to pull the whole console out, but is there by chance any quick fixes anyone has come across to maybe yank the disc out? However the disc door is closed now..

Your CD player is most likely done. When i bought my CL, the CD player was jammed with a CD just like yours. I had to spend $300+ to get the CD player rebuilt. I regretted fixing it after, because you can just buy a used one for under $100 now.
Your best bet is to just go on the Blackmarket or ebay and buy a new unit. When the CD players on these cars get jammed, there done.

Meh, I really hope that for now I could just figure out an easy fix. I don't want to have to get a new one, since it's kinda like another thing I have to take care of.. which needless to say I have a laundry list of things I need to tend to atm.
But I suppose if I do, I could get some nice in-dash CD player/Navigation thing

Yeah I was looking through the 2nd gen TL forum, found out it is pretty common...
And I'd try to pry the disc out, but the door is closed and won't open Tried banging on the sides of the center console, heard jingling, but didn't do anything. I'll keep trying a few things...

Wow, I forgot to post this but I got my car back on Monday. First thing I did was check the CD player... it worked without a problem at all Just turned it on, it went to CD 6, then started playing like normal..
