How do I remove the screw clips on the trunk lid liner?

I need to tighten the Acura logo on the trunk lid of my '01 CL-S. I see how the liner to the lid is held on via screw clips, but no amount of convincing has loosened them.

Is there a trick to removing those screw clips? I don't feel like breaking anything and making a trip to the dealer.

take one small flat head and stick it below the screw but above the clip, then take the second one and spin the screw with it, make sure you dont apply any pressure inwards, only pressure that screw should get it is twisting force. if the headmesses up, u can just pry the screw out, or take some cutter pliers and break it out.

Are the screws supposed to have slotted heads? Mine are smooth on the top.

Is it possible to just slide one flathead screwdriver under the screw, lift it slightly, then pull the screw out?

Actually, I just realized that you can pull these screws off if you do it slowly -- I didn't break any of them, amazingly.

That is pretty amazing. Usually after 7-10 years they get brittle and crack if you look at them the wrong way.

They are not screws. They are pressed clips that look like a screw. All you need is a trim panel removal tool & pop them off.(less then $10 & many uses) Or you can use a screwdriver & pry them out but breakage may occur.

the ones on the trunk lines usually come off with out breaking. its the ones on the bumpers and shields that usually break while removing. The trick to take those off is you spray wd40 on them, let them sit for a minute and then they slide right out.
