I 'upgraded' to these many years ago on my CL-S6 to eliminate having to buy front rotors every 8-10K. They did feel 'mushy' as you mentioned above at first. I remember doing a couple more bleeds, total of four, to try and firm it up. It helped a little. Then I decided to just drive with them a while and see how I liked them. After awhile, I did not fixate on the mushy feel as much and the brakes were totally stopping the car when needed. I guess it is an acquired conditioning of sorts, YMMV.
Best thing about them is that I have not bought a new set of rotors in years, though I drive considerably less these days.

Funny thing is if you compare the 95 Legend master cylinder to the 03 CLS one, the 95 Legend is a little larger. Not sure if that has any bearing on the mushy aspect or not.

So I'm curious; given how similar the CL is to the TL, is there a relatively easy path to taking the Brembo setup from the 3G TLs and putting them on the CLs?

The thread below discusses it. From a cursory view it looked involved. Also, back in the day, the RL calipers could also be swapped with a caliper adapter kit from Fastbrakes, I believe.

Based on that, it would seem the RL caliper mod would be preferred.
