Lightbulb Install on ddm 55w h.i.d. Kit

So I got my kit finally today, after 16 days and im having a little frustration with this kit.
It seems to be well made, but the plug on the ballast only fits my high-beam connector. So i would have to splice wires to make it work.
Im not really cool with cutting my factory plugs, so I am thinking of just going ahead and using the high beam plug so it is a direct fit, therefore my actual high beam bulbs will not work.
But will this damage anything and will it be a high beam rather than a low-beam, or does the ballast control that?

please help with any info that is constructive...thanks
