Help: car clicks once, but no start

So my car has been driving fine, until just now, I went to leave work and all my power still works on my car, but it wont turn over!!:whym e:
It makes one click when I turn the key, thats it.
I messed with the battery cables, and tried jumping the car off, but nothing changes it.
It still has no dimming or weird noises, just wont start.

Is it my coils or starter? How would I know?
I know its not the battery or alternator because i had it checked a few weeks ago to just see if it was okay, but i guess anything is a possibility....

any thought on this will be appreciated....

the only thing i did a week ago was plug the vacuum line for my intake, the one that runs to the front of the engine, but thats it, but a vac line wont cause it to not start though...this is crazy

sounds like your having 2 different problems at once. From what your saying I would say your starter is bad. Also sounds like your iacv on the throttle body may be bad also thus causing a idle surge.

good call, thats exactly what i was thinking, but of course since there is no check engine light, then none of the scan tools pull up shit...

Funny thing is, the car is perfect right now, and i did nothing to fix it, so it makes no sense????

no loss in power, starts right up, and idles fine, all i did was unplug both battery cables and let it sit for ten minutes and hooked it back up.

Now its back in action, the only thing that is different is now the intake is loud as shit, and it wasnt like that before, so dunno if this is all related or just a bad flippin day with the ole cl-s?
