If anyone in my area can help me with this neverending problem I will love you forever. I have a 2001 Acura CL
I have a problem with my passenger headlight. It doesn't always come on. Half the time I don't know if it's on or not unless I see the reflection in someones car or if I get out and look. I replaced the plastic casing. I replaced the bulb, the ballast, igniter, everything! I don't know if I should go to the dealer now and get raped or if another shop can figure it out. I read the headlight thread and the only thing that wasn't checked was a ground wire. I don't have a mechanic right now. Where is the ground wire? I was told there's lots of ground wires.
My OTHER problem is since the bulbs were replaced on both headlights, they are not lined up properly. There's a big shadow on the driver side and they look blotchy. Before this was done, they looked awesome, one clean line. Everyone keeps flashing me thinking my brights are on.
I had the same problem. To diagnose this, find the wire connector (shown in the picture), turn on the headlight wiggle the wire (circled in red). If the headlight turns on and off, this is where the trouble is. Sometimes the wire to the metal sleeve gets loose and you would have intermittent contact. The Acura dealer fixed it free of charge by crimping the wire to the sleeve terminal.
You have to adjust the aiming of your headlight using a Philips screw driver.
Thank you. But what the service manual does not point out is that you obviously have to take the upper black trim piece off. The horizontal adj is right in front of the steel crossmember basically behind the low beam.
