I started the car up cold, let it run for 5 minutes and back out of the driveway and began my drive. About 30 seconds later the D5 indicator light on the gauge cluster started blinking. The check engine light also came on as well as the traction control. The transmission has usually had problems when it's cold but warming up after 10 minutes is fine. After about 5 minutes to turn the car off and turn it back on and the first gear indicator light on the gauge cluster is permanently lit up and the check engine light is on. The car seems to be running and shifting fine however it worries me that the check engine light and the first gear indicator are permanently illuminated. I'm hoping this isn't a solenoid or problem with the gear shift or tranny computer. Can anyone help me figure out why the check engine lights on in the first gear indicator light in the instrument cluster is still lit up. The only reason the first gear light is on is because I manually placed the shifter in the first gear spot so that the transmission would not shift up because it slips when it's cold. But right at that moment the vehicles appeared to be stuck in second gear. After turning the vehicle off and then restarting it everything appeared fine except the check engine light and 1st gear indicator permanently on on the gauge cluster. Anybody can help with this problem thank you?!
