Electrical Issue - Constant draw of 11 amps on battery
Electrical Issue - Constant draw of 11 amps on battery
I have a 2002 CL type S. Lately I have been battery related problems. I took it to auto zone to check the alternator and battery and they said my battery was bad but the alternator was ok. I bought a new battery and within 2 weeks it was dead. I took it to a friends shop and they put a meter on it to see where the short is. We pulled all the fuses one at a time and the meter never dropped below 11.74. They even pulled the alternator wire and in never dropped to 0. They tell me that I have a constant draw off the battery, (not running). They pulled all the fuses in all three fuse boxes but couldn't find the source of the problem. I tend to think it is the security alarm but he said he pulled that relay and nothing different happened, another words it stayed in between ranges 11.74 - 12.25. This was with a meter connected to the battery with a jumper wire connected to the battery cable. I am currently driving around with a jumping battery pack to jump the battery in the morning. . Oh yea sometimes the car will start the next day but most the time not.
I saw your post in my other thread saying you were having similar issues. My problem was the automatic locks or something on the same circuit as them. Since pulling the fuse, I have not had any problems.
