Dash light out

I was hoping someone could give me more information....
My clock light is out in my dash but the clock works fine. Im thinking its not a blown fuse because all other lights work. Has anyone had this problem before? It can be annoying at night time. What does it take to replace a bulb (if thats the problem)? I dont want to take it to Acura Im just looking for someone to help me get that light working again
thanks

I have the same problem, I am looking through the helm's manual and it is very confusing...I haven't really gotten a chance to look at the fuse box but I think it would be the drivers side under dash fuse box #9. I will check it when it is light out.

Im no electrician but if it was a fuse problem wouldn't there be more lights out then just our clock? Thanks for looking into this and letting me know

Thats what I would have thought but according to the circuit diagram the clock function and the clock back light are different fuses....that being said I checked my fuse and it wasn't blown, so I still don't know what happened.

i had the same problem on my CL....upon taking it to the dealership they said that the bulb is blown but it cost alot for them to fix it...so i simply took off the dash and installed a new bulb that was about $7...

having to take off the dash just to change a bulb is insane. Ill run my car into the ground before I take it to the stealership to replace a damn bulb.

I had this problem last month. Gotta take out the dash to reach the bulb. But the bulb that I replaced it with is not that bright. It use to be as bright as the stock headunit's light. BLACKCLONDUBZ, is your light as bright as the rest? If so, what kind of bulb did you use and where did you get it?

i have roughly 67K on my CL and the bulb went out a few months after a bought the car.
words can not describe how much I enjoy turning on the interior lights just to check the time! No way will I bring my non-warranted car to acura to fix a damn bulb...i figure since Ill be removing the dash I might as well buy a new brushed aluminum one to replace it

You don't have to remove the entire dash, just the plastic around the HVAC controls and gauges, right?

lucky me

Believe it or not I decided to just tap on the clock for the hell of it and the light came on...I guess something just got jiggled loose when I took apart the console to install my ipod.

2001 TL, 31000 mi. Clock back light off. Clock works. Fuses check OK. Is this a simple bulb replacement? Or an entire clock? Looks like entire dash needs removal to access. How difficult is dash removal?

haha, looks like we have one more person to enlighten about the magic of the "smack it" method.

give it a nice hard rap directly underneath and overtop, if it doesn't light up THEN you need to change the bulb.

Just two screws on the top of the bezel - thats the only thing that holds it. Drop your steering whell all the way down and simply rip out entire gauge trim, disconnect few plugs and twist that damn bezel - if you take it out its pain in the butt to get it back in. Little flat head screwdriver should do a bulb replacement. Once you do it your second time will be a snap. Do not let those stealership suckers rip you off
