Comptech Headers failed SMOG!

Went for smog today (as required by CA)..... Technician said that he saw the proper numbers on the front set of headers, but he couldn't see any numbers on the back set and therefore he failed me. This seems incredible! Anyone have a similar experience? Doncha love California?

Does Comptech even put it on both manifolds? I don't see why they would. Does not make sense to me! How much did he charge to fail you?

The problem is with that technician not California I've had 2 different CL's with 2 different sets of comptech headers and never had any issues. One thing I've learned over the years is some tech's are over zealous in failing people especially now more than ever especially if they charge for a retest. I had a guy try to fail me because of my AEM intake and it had the Carb sticker but I told him I knew his game so he backed off.

Blame the monkey. CT only puts the carb stamp on the front header. Also includes a little sticker. Always has been.

Never had the sticker but I went to 2 smog places with my headers on and they didn't say anything. They looked though.

+1 on going to another place or have a talk with management to get your money back.

That's what I figured and what I told him... I said "What kind of sense would it make to only install one aftermarket header? they're a set!" He didn't get it. I'm going elsewhere.....
