How long is a while? If it's like 6 months or longer you may want to disconnect the battery & air up the tires to the max cold PSI. Then have not more then a 1/4 tank of gas in it.

Or if it's not worth it to you do that, you can just start it 1 time a week for about 5-10 minutes or until it's warmed up. If your not moving it, still max out your tire pressure to avoid flat spotting the tires.

o right. thanks. probably wont be longer than six months. so what happens if it has more gas then its supposed to or I choose to not d/c the battery? when you say flat spotting, do you mean that as in for cosmetical purposes or can I damage my tires by not maxing out the pressure?

thanks.

You don't want gas sitting in your gas tank for a long period of time unused. It's not good for any car. Flat spotting means over time aired up unused tires naturally loose air pressure. If left like this they will flatten out on the pavement from the weight of the car causing the tire to be flat in that 1 area. If left this way it will damage the tire.
The battery will just die if you leave it connected & never start the car.

I personally haven't tried this but a fuel stabilizer added to the gas might help.
