Climate control not working very well

Is your climate control working more or less?

I keep noticing that in my car, once it's night, the car gets WAY colder than during the day. I usually keep mine at 74, which works alright during the day, but once it's night, it'll blast A/C at the same rate it does during the day. Setting the temp to 80+ still doesn't really work, other than it starts blowing A/C only at your feet.
So what I do is set it to max (90F), leave it there for a while, then set it back to 74. And then it's partially confused again, where it's putting more heat in then it should.

All this is with the engine warm, and after it's been running for a while.

mine does something similar. it's fine at 60 but if i want anything between 61-89 it stays on 60 until i set to 90 for a few seconds then turn it down to my desired temp. it's weird.

Did you ever take it in to have it looked at, or would that be considered anal-retentive?

I'm really picky about the car, so I'm trying to see what normal people don't complain about.

Yeah, I've the same thing happen with my a/c. I usually have it set to 78, but it really blows cooler air than that. I've also noticed setting it up to 90 until the heater kicks on then setting it back down will correct the problem. From what I've noticed, it seems like it's got something to do with humidity.

no i haven't had this looked at mainly because there is a way to correct it. plus i don't want to deal with the bs that comes along with the dealership. i don't think it would be anal retentive at all. it's a problem that more than one is experiencing. i think it might be as simple as cleaning the ac filter or whatever other sensor that effect the ac. but until the "quick fix" stops working then i think at most i will do is change the ac filter and see what that does.

On my road trip I did notice this. It was at 70 the whole trip, but sometimes the air would start blowing hard out of the vents, when it didn't seem to be needed. Then raising it to 75 had zero change in the amount of airflow. Even on 80 same thing. Then it just stopped doing it but was intermittent the whole trip.
My cabin filters are ok, & the little sensor to the right of the steering wheel(on the dash) is clean.

Strange....

Then, I will bring it up at the next oil change.

The reason why I'm bringing it up, is that I have 8k miles left on my warranty

I have this problem as well. I looked at an old thread, slyraskal encountered this issue too, but the fix (besides turning it up to 90) was not posted.

Not sure...mine's stopped doing it. I took apart the dash the other week, and put everything back together. Since then I haven't noticed it doing it anymore. Not saying that it's fixed, or unplugging the hvac unit and plugging it back in will work, but it might be worth a shot.
