Hey guys i need some help... my check engine light been on for a while. i tried the battery trick (i left it unplug for 2days) but it still on. I need to know how to reset it. thank you

 

Go to Autozone and have them pull the code. It keeps coming on because there must be a problem.

 

my dealer reset it and said that it was not a problem, tat sometimes it happens when the car does not recognize the key and the engine is cranked and flooded. Is this for real? or is this dealer speak?

I've never heard of this trick? My light just came on when I recently boosted my car.

 

Look in your owners manual, it tells you how to turn it off! It comes on every 7500 miles to remind you to service. If it keeps coming back on, take it in, something is wrong!

There is a HUGE difference between the Maintenance light you are referring to and the Check Engine light.

Maintenance = perform service (dummy light)
Check Engine = some malfunction has occurred which requires attention
