best way to fix this

the border around the back window is fading is there anyway to fix this or make it look better without replacing?

i was thinking about that but it is a certain shine and texture and I think if i spray painted it, it would be alot more obvious

Yes, sand, tape and spray paint it w/ a dedicated product such as this: http://www.autogeek.net/wufltrpa.html I did my TL once about 6 years ago and it looks good and its holding up great.

Off topic, but did you ever get those XS headers in? The grade 8 bolts and flex pipe wrap should be good, but check the welds on the flanges as I was thinking to get some redone/touched-up before I decided not to use 'em due to no CARB#. This was before I gave 'em to ALX. Doing this might aid in longer lasting goodness.

You know i looked at the pic again and he might have to paint it. It will look weird unless he gets the exact same color or paints the other one

I wanted to bring this thread back because I am planning on fixing it this weekend and wanted to know any last min tips or the proper way of doing it so I dont mess it up I am planning on using the mothers stuff

it looks like theres some rust on there, i think your best bet is to sand it down, prime it, and spray paint it

rust? how would it rust if its rubber?

I just tried that black to black and its just like armor all. I dont see how it would fix this

The finish on the rubber wore off, you need to order a new rubber piece for it from the dealer if you want it back to new
