Bad idle and big time cold start hesitation on CLs

Background info: Car will start. Idles poorly until warmed and throws at PO 131 code. Push the gas more than 1/4 of the way and the engine bogs down. Car will not accelerate past 1K and sputters badly if I push the gas more than 1/4 the way down. Upon warming it runs good.

I assume it's the CO2 sensor (don't know which one) and will replace it. Are there any other component failures that could be related to this issue?

I have the same issue and am trying to figure it out. I have replaced both O2 sensors and the transmission speed sensor, but still run into the same issue. Hesitation upon startup, then the car runs fine after warming up. B..u..t.. the CEL is on and the VSA light. The car also acts up during wet weather, which there has been a lot of in south Texas. If anyone can help that would be awesome. I'm try to do fix it myself to save $$$.
I have also check the coil packs by disconnecting them one at a time while the engine is running. The idle changes after disconnecting each one, so I ruled that out.

OK, I cleaned the EGR valve and ports. Still the same issue. I went to auto zone to get the codes read and have a PO 131, PO 132, and a P 1778.

The 131 and 132 codes are BS because I replaced both O2 sensors so now I am left with the 1778 code and P1778 is for a fault in the Clutch Pressure Solenoid Valve C. Normally either a faulty Solenoid, short in wiring harness or possible faulty PCM(powertrain control module). This is according to some info I found online. I am thinking that this may be the problem, due to the issues I have during wet weather. I will take look and check back in later.

Ok, everything is connected but I have no way of knowing whether or not the solenoid is bad. I may break down and go to a mechanic..

Thumbs up Fixed

I took it to a mechanic who determined that my upstream O2 sensor was not working correctly. I had already replaced it, but with a Bosch sensor, which I had bought to save money. MISTAKE. The mechanic used the more expensive Denso sensor (OE) and now she's purring like a kitten.
Hopefully this will help someone else.

J_Gats --- thanks for the excellent follow-up. I think my daughter's '01 CL-S is having the same problem yours was. She tells me that she'll start the car in front of her house, roll down the hill, and it's about 1/2 mile of driving before she has any power.

Are the 131 and 132 codes the only ones for the O2 sensors? And did it take a while for the codes to show, or were you driving it for a while before the codes appeared? I will definitely remember the Denso brand (good to know).

It took a little while for the codes to show. At first it was those codes along with a transmission code. I'm not sure if those are the only codes, but I believe that they are.
The replacement is a simple enough fix for both sensors, just make sure you pay the extra $$$ for an OE replacement. These vehicles are finicky.

It's one of the Automotive Ten Commandments ffs:
Thou shalt not put Bosch parts on a Japanese car.

Issue fixed

It was the upper CO2 sensor and my son got it through Ebay on the cheap and installed it in 20 minutes....Car runs very strong and chirps in second on the upshift from first now.

Thanks all for the helpful posts......
