Anti Theft light still blinking after a new battery install

I pulled my old battery and it was a few days before I installed the new one and now the anti theft light keeps blinking after I've unlocked with the fob.

Positive that thing quit blinking when I opened up before...

Anybody know about a reset?

Yea, the security light on the driver's door should be off when the car is unlocked. Try pulling the battery again.
Hope you're not talking about the anti-theft light on the radio.

I was and mystery solved when I turned the radio on today. It flashed "code", punched in the numbers and all's well.

Oh, the radio anti-theft. It always blinks when the radio is off, even if the car is on.

FWIW, I meant to say the anti-theft kept blinking not only after I opened the door but also after I started the car - with the radio off - and it never did that before.

After entering the radio code I guess that resets the light. It keeps blinking after unlocking and even when the key is put in but move the ignition to position II and it goes out. Start the car and it'll flash once more but that's it.

Hmm I never really notice since my radio is always on when the car is on. I just know that it blinks when the car is off.

thanks for helping me solve my problem!!!

I never drive my TL. its a garage queen, and had done some work to it during the weekend. the battery was taken out.

I drove it last night and could have sworn that Ive never seen that red flashing light before. I thought I was going crazy.
I have yet to enter in the radio code.

My red light on the radio anti-theft keeps blinking. But only when the engine is not running. When it is running there is no problem.
I have a five-digit code that supposedly resets the light. But when I re-start the car and turn on the radio it never asks me for any code.

This all started when I was siting in my car and turned on the radio. I probably did something else but when I turned off the engine the light started to blink.

It always blinked before but about once every 4 seconds. Not it's blinking once every second or so. It's very annoying. Can anyone suggest a solution?

How can I enter the code if it doesn't ask me and what do I use to enter it? Do I use that wheel that is used by the Nav system? Or do I try to use voice commands?

Unplug the battery again, wait ten minutes, plug it back in and then the code should prompt when you press the power button

Thank you for that. But how can I unplug the battery? Do you mean I should open the hood and use some tools to remove one of battery posts? If so does it matter if I remove the positive or negative?

I tried to edit my above post to ask you about your use of the word "again". I never said that I had unplugged the battery. At least I don't think that anything I've tried so far would be equivalent.

Does this forum not permit me to edit my posts? Or is that something that happens once I have made a certain number of posts?

Sorry. I meant to ask if by "disconnect the battery" did you mean I should remove the battery cable from one of the battery posts?
If so, does it matter whether I remove the cable from the positive or negative post?

I have never done anything like that before and don't even have any tools with which to do that. I suppose I'll have to take it into a shop.
