Another coolant question.

Ok on our manual it says we have a reserve tank. From what the picture looks in the manual, it looks like its with our coolant. is that right?????
Sorry for the dumb question.

If it's connected to the radiator, yes. That's the coolant overflow tank.

the reserve tank, also known as the overflow tank, is the clearish bottle near the battery.

Little clear/white plastic bottle between the battery and the grille.

For whatever reason you are inquiring about this, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a professional based upon your initial question and subsequent response.

while its true that I didnt know much about CLs when i joined Acurazine, I did know where the radiator and coolant overflow tank was and what they did. These are simple fundamentals of an engine, you must know where your fluids are and what kind.

why dont you just unhook it and take it out and clean it? i do it time to time. you'd be surprised, sometimes i get some kind of sediment at the bottom of the tank.

Maybe we didnt know much about the CL, but his question isnt necessarily car specific. I mean if you dont know where your radiator is or what it does then............

Thanks for understanding. Let me try to state my question the best way you guys understand. First of all, i dont know much about cars but so far, I'm learning a few things from the other members here. So thanks to this site.

Basically, coolant is to help our engine from over heating right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Also i honestly dont know what our radiotor does and how often we have to flush pur radiotor. Im coming up on my 167k miles. Really want to keep this for a long time.

So, from what I read or saw on our manual, it looks like the coolant is in the same tank with our reserve gas.(is this the actual gas?) It's just that when my fuel was low, I noticed that my coolant is a little less than what i remember. But whenI went to fill up my tank, it went back to the same level that it was before. Sorry if this is confusing. So let me know if this is normal.
thanks...

ur collant runs through sperate chanels in the engine it has nothing to do with gas it keeps the engine opp. temps in check as a internal combustion engine creats forward momentum via tiny explosions of gas and air which produce very high temps ...i recomend u visit this site howstuffworks.com

heres a link happy reading
