03 CL-S 6 speed reverse issues HELP!!

I am having issues occasionally shifting into reverse. It doesnt always want to engage all the way. I either have to pump the clutch a couple time (works most of the time) or I have to shift into 1st and go ahead a little and then it shifts into reverse find after that. Any Ideas why?

We need more info about your car. Is modified ? Having issues shifting into other gears ? First thing i would check is clutch fluid level and cables.

Reverse has a lockout syncro so you can't shift into it accidentally. Having to pump the clutch once or go into 1st gear is common with this type of lockout device. I've had to do it on occasion too. If all other gears appear to be normal & there's no grinding I'd look at the clucth fluid level, & if that was ok I'd change your trans fluid to the new Acura reformulated MT stuff.

Is the clutch fluid different from the transmission fluid? Where can I check the clutch fluid level? I just bought manual transmission fluid from the Honda dealership and changed it about 3 weeks ago. No effect on the reverse engaging better. As far as I know everything is stock on the tranny.

The clutch master cylinder is to the right of the brake master cylinder on the firewall.

On ALL the Hondas I have driven, some twenty years old, others brand new off the lot, reverse is difficult to get into. I always put it into third then into reverse - not a single problem since.
