Had the ABS, VSA, and ! lights on a few weeks ago. Took it to the dealer and was told that codes 51-1 and 83-1 were stored in the computer and that I needed a new ABS Modulator. $2040.00.

Finally got the idea to check out the fuses, and found that the 30 amp ABS fuse was blown. Put a new one in, started it up, and all three warning lights cleared after about 20 seconds. Did a few hard stops, and ABS is definitely working. Now, just wondering if my joy will last, or if the lights will come back...

i wouldn't recommend getting another abs modulator. Those don't usually go out that easily. Your fuse was probably just blown so you should be good to go. Just check if all the sensors are connected correctly

 

Might want to bring that up to the service dept where you brought the car to.

 

for a guy with one post, you sure are making progress.. lol and yes I'd definatly let that dealership know how retarded they are.

Just think if they had made u pay and then fix the fuse as well so it actually works and you'd THINK they were right... cause they may have known all along and we're trying to play you.
