wow, 221whp stock and 242whp with just headers?
dude, is that all the mods you have?
if so, that is a really strong engine. great numbers man
how many miles on it?
what gear did you run the dyno on, 4th?

This was a 3rd gear pull. The car just rolled over 135,500 and not a leak in sight and I got an AEM CAI, too. That's it

wow, thats awesome.
my car just turned 134k miles, and mine is in wonderful shape too, but i didnt think i would dyno near that at all.
i have intake, headers, spacers, exhaust, neuspeed suspension...ext
i need to go to the dyno and see what i put down, hopefully around 250whp if mine is as healthy as yours...thanks for the vids man

torque seems really low though for the HP for the engine
also i see one MAJOR thing for the different dynos, first one the hood was shut, so heat soak is more then likely dropping those numbers some, compared to the second pull with it open, allowing the heat to escape (so the amount of power you gained is not going to be correct, since the hood being open is the norm usually)

BUT then if you say try and touch it after like a long highway cruise, it's cool enough that it is just kinda luke warm, and you are able to leave your hand on it all day almost
so yes it could easily make a good 10-15 hp difference, if not more, when the motor gets heat soaked (even if the weather conditions are the exact same)
btw even then that fan they have seems kinda small to start with for trying to get full power when you are just sitting there
also OP, i would be bitching if they had tried to tie my car down like that on the rear, there are tie down points on the chassis, suspensions are REAL EASY to bend/tweak like that (it's better then hooking to the suspension arms themselves though)

When I dynoed it before the headers, we tried with the hood open and closed and didn't really make a difference. I have other vids on youtube for proof.

I don't know what would cause it to be low. I didn't really think it was that low I guess but now that I look at it, I don't know. All I noticed was that my torque curve was much better after the headers and that peak torque went up a little.

get a 2.5" exhaust and you will feel the full affect of those headers...gl

Yeah, I know I need a valve adjust and spark plugs. I still have the original NGK's in there. And I figured I would need a valve adjust since I'm at 135k. And I need to get it done before the races on Friday.

YEAH it will make a difference for sure. Also, the engine torque dampers as well, which i am replacing next weekend myself...gl at the track

The numbers seem a bit "off" because you did these runs in third gear.

how do you know it was it 3rd gear?
we are supposed to be in 4th in our cars right?
damn, that means he would be even higher in the right gear..wow

The biggest thing here is both runs were done in third. The numbers themselves dont mean shit, the gains are what matters.

looks like 4th..hmm, either way, if he was in 3rd, he was def. not in the right gear for the dyno.
hopefully we can see a 4th and 5th gear dyno to get a reference of the difference

5th is .024 away from 1.000, while 4th is .25 away - 5th is closer.
But as I said, the difference wouldn't be great. His numbers would be slightly higher however.

You guys think I would have higher numbers if I did a 4th gear pull? That would be sweet! Either way took her to the track this weekend. Had a blast! wondering how I can improve 60' time?

I ran a 15.252 @ 93.25. don't laugh! This is at 4500 ft. elevation. I had an 0.088 reaction time which I'm stoked about but 60' is still in the 2.4's and that decides the whole race.

A density altitude calculator tells me I would run a 14.113 @ 100.7 at sea level.

You are running slower than a stock auto would be here in Florida, and its hot as hell down here....lol....gl

Yeah, its a huge difference with N/A cars. Turboed cars aren't affected as much, though, cause they create their own atmosphere in the intake but they're still affected too.

Cant see the time either but if I go off the video timer it looks like mid 14s.

it was actually 15.0 @ 94mph, I wish I could get mid 14's here. I need to bring it down to sea level and see how I do to make myself feel better
