You should visit www.zainobros.com first -- there are some very useful faqs there to "chew-on".

It helps to first "digest" the info over there, then come back with detailed questions.

Just a thought...

What we tell you and what the zaino site tells you is about the same length. And Zaino will give you a much better description, if you really care about taking care of your car go read what they have to say, and I dont know if you intended it sound snobbish but that last statement sounded like that. Good luck with the Zaino. Its a great product.

Don't take this the wrong way, but don't be lazy - read the instructions at least! Zaino is easy, but you don't want to be putting it on wrong!

If you want full Zaino effect get claybar (Z12?), Z1, X2, Z6, Z7. You want Z5 if you have any scratches or swirls.

Some zaino stuff is liquid, most is like body lotion. Z6 is a spray.

You can reapply zaino however often you want. One coat lasts a while, but the more coats you have, more protection and reflection.

Zaino won't help protect from sunlight, but it will make stuff on it easier to clean (dust, bird poop, etc) Whether you want a car cover doesn't matter if you have Zaino or not.

for starters: (yo chod, is this on the faq?)

1) buy (at least) z1, z2, z6.

optional (in order of importance) is z5 (like z2, but for swirl marks), claybar, and any other stuff you want (glass cleaner, leather, etc.).

2) wash with dawn (recommended) or another liquid non-abrasive "cuts-grease" dishwashing detergent...if not dawn, at least something decent (no, IGA brand is not acceptable). this will remove all wax and leave a squeaky waxfree surface.

2) (optional) clay bar the car...use a mixture of z1 and water in a spray bottle for lubricant (according to instructions). make sure you wash again the area you clayed.

3) apply z1 to entire car in circular/filling motion. then apply z5 if you want to get rid of swirls, or z2 if you want to go straight to making it shiny. for best shine, apply in straight motions: front to back for all horizontal surfaces such as hood, and up and down for vertical surfaces such as doors. z2/z5 can be applied right on top of wet z1.

4) wait 'til it dries COMPLETELY. this may take 30 minutes or 3 hours, depending on humidity, temp, etc. i did it in the end of winter in an 80 degree heated garage (very dry) and it dried in like about 30 minutes. you'll know if it's dry or not...it will smear if it's not...if it is, it'll come right off like a fine dust.

5) buff it with 100% COTTON USA-MADE WHITE brand name towels...watch the stitching may scratch.

6) apply z6 (spray) according to instructions.

7) if you applied z5, wait 8 hours (i think) at least and apply z6 again, then go to z2 or z5 again to get rid of more swirl marks. if you went with z2 instead of z5 the first time around, you can stop. or after 8 hours, apply z2 again and then another z6.

always end with z2, and always use z6 before and after, and always wait (i think) 8 hours between layers.

all the stuff (except clay) is liquid. z6 is a concentrated spray.

if i'm missing something or wrong somewhere, correct me.

and it all smells good.

i think what i posted is probably the length of the instructions you get anyway.

it's only one sheet that tells you what order and "tips" to apply. the details are on the bottles.

Dude, if you’re too lazy to read an FAQ I don’t know if ZAINO is the product for you.

Its great once applied, but the first application if done right is going to cost you a full weekend.

After that it’s not any harder then other waxes to apply additional coats.
Black will required some extra TLC as well.

It's not on the CL FAQ, no.

Sal Zaino's FAQ is plenty - at most I'll put a link to his FAQ.

Shawn -- you have a very good point, at least if you are refering to the "initial" prep and coat #1...

Do you need to apply all these coats in the shade? On a cool car? Or can it be in the sun with a hot car?

On the Zaino (z2) bottle is says you can appy it in the shade or when it is sunny! Z1 smells like crap but Z2 smells like apple lotion.
