Pretty spendy I'm sure if I could get the seller to leave out the items I don't need, it'd be marked down.

btw do I need to change out the coolant when I put in a new water pump? The dealer put new coolant in back when I bought the car 10k miles ago.

You wont have to do a full flush but you will need to top off.

BTW, I just ran all those PNs through my dealer (MagAuto.com) and the entire package thats listed on eBay for $357.86 with shipping is $326.43 not including coolant. MagAuto used to do free shipping for orders over $75, but they dont have it listed anymore. If you call them you may be able to work out a deal.

Also, if you look up the PNs, make sure you say they are Honda PNs otherwise they will charge you more.

Hey civic, pls do u know if it is necessary to change the gaskets/valve cover gasket on both banks and the rubber rings at the base of the spark plugs for the 105k service.

anything you remove that has a metal gasket, you'll want to replace those. You'll risk a vac leak if you dont. I decided to change the rubber spark plug tubes just because its right there and you probably wont be touching it for another 7 years.

I'm thinking about buying from oemacuraparts.com, and from the looks of things, they're about the same prices. The thing that confuses me is the cam seal is listed as a part for an 07 RL... I'm sure it's interchangeable, but why list it for an 07 RL? if it was first used on a 01 TL.... nevermind.

Alright, don't laugh at me for this one, but I gotta ask just to make sure...

When you're changing the oil, do you really need to replace the washer for the drain plug? Or can you just clean it off and reuse it? I mean, it's just there to keep it from leaking, right? If you do need to replace it, what size washer do I need?

Its a 14mm crush washer.

I know some people that reuse them but I dont. My dealer gives me them by the handful.

OK cool. I was just curious seeing as how my dealer is about ~30 miles away. I definitely don't want to drive all the way out there for a couple washers.. I'll see if I can get 'em nearby.

Also, on the subject of oil changes, I've read around here that people get oil leaks when they first go to synthetic. Is that true? I've looked around at auto parts stores, and all the Mobil 1 5w20s they have are all apparently synthetic.

mobile 1 is their synthetic "blend" and I have heard of people having leaks when they switch as well. When I switched I was burning oil for about a month but then that went away.

its mostly a myth, synthetic is fully compatable with conventional oils (hence the creation of synthetic blends) but I wont going switching back and forth like crazy or switch back to conventional from synthetic. if you must, at least try to run a couple intervals of synthetic blend to "ease" the transition.

as for crush washers, you can order them off ebay for really cheap or even purchase them at your local autoparts stores but they can be a little hard to find. I figure its cheap insurance. I havent thought about asking my local dealer but I'll try that the next time im there.

yea, thats why ebay is probably good for them. I heard you can get 100 for like 5 bucks or something. Dealers are always a rip and even the auto parts stores are like 1.30 if you can find them for our size.

lol just changed out my spark plugs. In order to get to the rear passenger side one, I had to disconnect the clamp that hold the power steering hose in place. and of course.... I dropped it into the engine bay! It didn't fall through and I can't find it for the life of me.

I mean, it's fine the way it is, right? It was just that clamp over the rear passenger side coilpack. It's not coupling two hoses together or anything... anyone know the clamp I'm talking about? It's that little 10mm screw...
