Ok I'm on my way to work today with the heat on and all of a sudden the A/C kicks on and is stuck at 20! Whats the deal? I saw someone else had this problem but I can't find the thread.

 

That has happened to me maybe 3 or 4 times...but hasnt in a while. I told them about it at the dealer but they said something about interference from towers or some shit like that...I cant remember cuz I just didnt believe it.

The FAQ indicates that this behavior has been fixed in later model CL's. However it's happened to mine several times and the DOM is May '01.

It seems to happen only when the climate control is set to 65. 64 and 66 are fine, 65 goes straight to 20.

I'll bring it up with the dealer at my first service.

NOLACLS - I think this is a defective part and not a result of radio interference. Perhaps others on the board can confirm that.

 

Yeah let me know what your dealer does about it...because mine has the "if its not doing it in front of me I can t fix it" mentality...which is ok because it has only done it a few times and it has been a long time since the last time it did it.

 

Thanks guys, I'll get those bastards to check it out. I had seen the FAQ earlier, the only problem is mine did it at 73-75.

 

We have seen this before- it is the control head in the dash. The repair is to replace the control head. Tell your dealer to reference service news information 010603 on the Interactive Network for the info.
