Sun Diego CL-S:...How Did you reset your ECU?...I think I have the same Prob...Found the link to www.acuraautomotiveparts.org, but it seems like the gasket for the IACV comes separate from the part itself...

I've replaced the IAC on a number of other cars and never ran any special test. Replace it and go. Does the car start up and run right afterwards is the only test you need. If you want, call around to a couple other dealerships and ask to talk to someone in the service department. Ask them if it's something the owner can replace themselves or even call little mom and pop shops and ask.

as for the gasket, i looked at the link you mentioned. here is the page with the throttle body parts. the IACV is the part under illustration number 2. in side that box, part no. 8 is the gasket. i say the gasket should've came with the IACV kit if you already have it. good luck and let me know!

The idle on my car fluctuates but isn't a constant fluctuation. It'll go up and down randomly (this is with the AC off).
Could this be the IAC? I've always wondered why it would be doing this. it's gotten worse over time. I do have 146K+ mi on my car.
At what mileage did you guys start experiencing problems with the IAC? did you find out what the cost was for the part?

yeah, that does sound like this could be it. first try taking your throttle body off and cleaning it well with throttle body cleaning spray. hopefully this deos the trick. if that doesn't work, well, i guess you'll have to look into getting a new IACV.
my car was running fine until i came around to installing both the Icebox and Thermoblok's at the same time. i'm guessing i clogged or loosened something up during the install at ~60k miles and ended up replacing this.
good luck.

The next time I go in, i'm gonna ask the guys at the dealership why the car's idle would fluctuate and see if they mention the IAC.

If you have a CL-S match up the part
If you have a CL-P match up the part

thanks for the quick answer, Tom.
it seems to be quite a common problem and necessary to address.
now, i have to bring myself to replacing my Purge SV.
