What's up with heated seats?

3 month ago I had my driver's seat fixed ( the back would not heat). Now I notice my passenger seat is not warming up ( actually it warms up just a bit, can't even say its warm... nothing like it was before ).
Does your seats get really warm? Why the hell are they failing so often, its not like I use them often....

Mine get so hot to the point that when the car is warmed up by the heater, you are tempted to turn them off, but there is a catch here.

My drivers seat is always on in chilly Chicago (going to -4f tonight). Turn on your passenger seat and let it run for two minutes or so. Put your non gloved hand on the passenger seat. It might barely feel warm. Then, go sit in it. The seat heaters are somewhat buried, and it is the pressure of your body that is the true test. I think you will find that your heaters are fine.

Was it passenger heated seat? I tried sitting on it, and yes I run it for long time(15min or more) on 'HI'. It just seems much weaker than driver's seat....

LOVE my heated seats, especially in the Bflo winters! High is too hot tho, only in the a.m. when first getting into car, then down to low, then off. I wish we had heated steering wheels a la BMW!

I stopped using my heated seats when the leather on the driver's seat of my TL started to bubble. Scared of the bubbling getting worse.

I got bubbling driver seat also, plan to meantion it to my dealer... they should fix it under warranty. it has nothing to do with your heated seats ( in summer leather gets much warmer than heat from your element ).

You think? I was told that it was from the heated seats. Hmph ... Oh well, next time I'm at the dealer I'll ask them to take a look at it too.

Just checked, my passenger seat is definatly 10 times weaker than driver's seat. its barely warm ( and yes, I know the back is not supposed to get warm).
The question is:
Will the dealer still fix it eventhough its a little warm, or they will claim "it still works".
should I wait till the summer when my 30K check up is due, or better to show it while cold.

I just got back from the dealer, they replaced my drivers back heater, but in the process of doing that, I now have 3 2-3" grey wear lines in my black leather seat cover. I caught it before leaving the dealer and they had to order a new cover. I wish i could score a new driver bottom, that's got a bunch of wear lines.

Originally I went in a few weeks ago and had my seat back replaced. A week later my seat bottom burned out. For Christ's sake.... what is the deal.

Also, I cannot even feel the seat warmer in the low position. In the hot position, the seat gets so hot that it burns my ass to the point where it is uncomfortable. WTF????
