What's a good asking price?

I have a 01 CL-S
Black
Injen CAI
HKS exhuast
Eibach springs
19' model 5's w/ toyo proxys
denso plugs
eyebrows
custom grill
tint

The car has about 26k miles and is in great condition. I was thinking around 25K as is, or 23K with out the wheels
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the help,
Paul

Take off your mods, put your stock parts back on and sell them seperate from your car. A modded car limits your selling audience.

Put it back to stock...part out the mods(you could probably sell them all in the Black Market Forum). There are not a lot of people that want a modded out luxury car...and if they do, they would probably want it done the way they want it!

Agreed. A modded car will, in most cases, lower your asking price. Many people think "performance parts = more wear to the car" and they are true to a point.

You will also make more money piece mealing your mods. Youll never get back your initial investment, but im thinking you already know that.

good luck

Hey Simpleman, this is funny. When I was going to trade my car in for another, I offered to take off the mods and the dealer said no, leave them on.

that is funny. its not that dealers wont sell modded cars its just more of a specialized market and it really kills the value of the car, most of the time.

When i was selling we had some kid drive in his modded civic dx coupe and wanted 14g. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. thats what the used sales manager said to him.

Turns out the kid traded it into a ford dealership for 7g and then my used sales manager turned around and bought it for that price and sold it for about 12-13g. BUT, when we put it on the lot for sale we made the buyer sign a waiver knowing they were buying a modded car with no warranty and if they blew themsleves up (it had nitrous) being dumbasses it was not our responsibilty.

It becomes a pain and a liabilty issue. But it doesnt mean it doesnt happen. I dont know anymore, different dealerships do different things, the ones out here in LA all disgust me fo the most part. Santa Monica Acura was a diamond in the rough, very good dealing with them. anyway, thats off topic...

I agree with russian Dude that you would be lucky to get 20-21K out of your car. A stock CL S in Chicago with about the same amount of miles you have would sell for the low 20's at a dealership, and I've even seen them sold in the mid 18's.

21k tops with all the mods or 19k without the mods. Thats the price I feel you will get for your car. I saw a showroom 01 CLS for less than 22k at an Acura dealer last week. It had 5K original miles. The price of these cars have gone down alot lately, not a very good market for a seller of any used car right now. Its still a buyers market.

Good luck..

If you go to trade in the car with the mods, the appraiser and salesmanager will argue with you that they can't "certify" the car. I was surprised though when I wanted to trade the car, they wanted the mods on there. Go and figure!
