What would you pay for Comptech Headers?

I have a chance to buy a set that (potentially) fit the 6-spd for $925. With word of Comptech reinstating its presence in the market, I am not sure what I am willing to pay for used headers at this point. Do I just wait until Comptech produces more and may the couple extra hundred? Or is $925 a decent price? I have seen the price range pretty drastically on the BM.

Also, are there any specific items to look for when buying used headers, besides the obvious?

$925 used or new? New is a good deal, but used is not. You may as well get news ones at that price.

However since no one knows what CT is doing(everything is hearsay) That may be the going rate since they may not be made anymore, but again no one knows for sure.

My thoughts exactly. They are used, but apparently bought in April '07.

I am torn because I know these are hard to come by, but the price seems a little unreasonable.

I think the highest ive seen is $850 for used CT headers. The usual range is $600-$650 if you track the history in the BM. I paid $800 for mine that were lightly used but then again, its not like there is a large market of these to choose from as a buyer, and now since the option of new is not on the table (not yet anyway) maybe that increases the resonable asking price. When i purchased mine, i was constantly in the BM waiting about 2 months before i caught one so i know that feeling you have.

The range is $600-650 for used 5AT headers. Used 6MT headers are usually $7-800+.

seems high for used headers, imo. if you can't wait you can pick up a pair of xs power headers until comptech brings them back. at least this way you get some nice gains for ~$100 to $150.

Thought about it but figured why do it twice? I'd rather just pay the money once and be done with it then constantly worry about hissing, resonance, or poor quality parts. Believe me, I weighed it out.

If I had the time to dedicate to my car like I once did, I would. But lately I have been paying to even get routine maintenance done, which is the primary basis for my decision. So, based on this I think I will keep scouring the BM and other sites for used headers or updates on comptech.
