Powder coat it. You essentially encase it in plastic, which does not rust, period. Look for powder coating job shops in your area. Should cost you $50-$100 tops. I powder coat, in a research and development function for a major corporation for 15 years now. Check out my powder coated wheels (black pearl chrome, this is a special technology that I can not do because of the middle step, vapor deposition of metal) at www.goodrichtechnology.com.

If you can live with the shipping times, I can do most powder coatings for you for free, as I have all the equipment and I get paint samples for free.

Contact Gary Goodrich at the above link, and ask him to send you a copy of the chromed (powder coated) intake manifold. Gary is gary@goodrichtechnology.com I love the work he did on my wheels.

He's talking about the outer cover. It's plastic and unfortunately cannot be powdercoated. Believe me I'd be the first to do it if it was possible.

ch1276: That looks really nice! And take that as a compliment from me, as I powder coat/paint for a living. But I am confused about one point: I am supposed to powder coat johntypes calipers, sway bar and intake manifold. He says the manifold is metal. We ARE talking two different parts here, are we? (Cover versus manifold?)

Yes. The cover is the plastic part on top of the engine where it says " 3.2 VTEC"
